About Rolfing

Rolfing, also known as structural integration, is a cross-section between manual therapy and functional fitness. Now practiced worldwide, Rolfers receive their training in Boulder, CO and work with various mentors prior to starting their own practices. Structural Integrators take pride in their education, methodology, and results.

Understanding the Rolfing 10-Series

The Series focuses on realigning and balancing the body by working through its fascia system. Each session builds upon the last, addressing different layers and areas of the body. A Rolfer’s systemic lens is crucial in this process. A holistic view of the body’s structure and function ensures that each session contributes to the overall goal of improved posture and movement.

Explore the 10 Rolfing Sessions

The first session focuses on assessing your body’s structure and identifying areas of tension and imbalance. We begin to open up the rib-cage and hips to allow better movement through the shoulders, neck, low back, and pelvis.

The second session stabilizes the body and sets the stage for upcoming work by getting clients grounded through their feet, calves, shins, and hips. The back is also considered in this session.

Session three focuses on aligning the sides of the body (think rounded shoulders, pelvic tilt, rotated knees, etc) to enhance overall posture and ease of movement.

The core of the body begins at the pelvis. We do work with the inner legs, pelvis, and low back in this session to begin to open the core up.

Session 5 begins to deal with the relationship between the core and the lower body in more detail, releasing deep muscles like the psoas and creating more space in the abdomen for deeper breathing, better spinal movement, and greater hip mobility.

The 6th session is all about the back. Glutes, hamstrings, calves, low back, shoulders, and neck are all aligned with each other in this session.

Session 7 focuses deeply on the neck, jaw, and shoulders. We work systematically with all the fascia in front of and behind the neck, and the different muscles and organs affecting the face.

Integrates the upper body with the rest of the structure, enhancing coordination and function.

Focuses on achieving balance throughout the entire body, ensuring all parts work harmoniously.

The final session integrates all previous work, leaving you with a balanced and aligned body.
